New Orleans Saints move indoors for second practice

Even the defending Super Bowl champs don't want to deal with the heat at minicamp.
The New Orleans Saints moved to their indoor practice facility for the second practice of the day, which was closed to the public.
The Saints will practice again tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. on the outdoor fields and open to the public.
About the most exciting play in the afternoon session was Larry Beavers' touchdown catch of about 50 yards. He caught a slant from rookie quarterback Sean Canfield, broke a few touches and ran to the end zone for the score.
A couple of players had near interceptions in the afternoon. Cornerback Leigh Torrence jumped on a pass from Canfield and had a chance to return it for a touchdown during passing drills, and linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar intercepted backup quarterback Chase Daniel during second-team offense versus defense.
Rookie cornerback Patrick Robinson, the Saints' first-round pick in 2010, did have an interception of Drew Brees during practice, but he shoved wide receiver Montez Billings to make the pick.
The same group of players who haven't been practicing recently didn't practice in the afternoon. Safety Darren Sharper and new linebacker Clint Ingram spent time on the exercise bike along with cornerback Glenn Sharpe, and safety Malcolm Jenkins missed practice with a bruised knee. Jenkins' absence was expected, according to Coach Sean Payton, who said after the morning practice that he didn't expect Jenkins to practice in the afternoon.
Tight end Jeremy Shockey practiced in both the morning and afternoon today. He has dealt with back spasms and seizure-like symptoms this offseason.
Punter Thomas Morstead and quarterback Chase Daniel worked in at holder on placekicks.
A number of high school and college coaches attended the practice to learn a few tips from the pros about how to run a practice.
