T Fans talking about Colts' Super Bowl chances

Jan. 29--The Indianapolis Colts will face the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl on Feb. 7 after the Colts defeated the New York Jets and the Saints beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The Colts are headed to the Super Bowl in Miami for the second time in four years and the Saints have never played in the big game.

This week The News asked residents if they have a favorite and if they are going to watch the Super Bowl next month. Their responses follow.

Mike Cain, Goshen -- "I think the two best teams are in the super bowl. I hope the Colts win."

Nick Gaff, Cromwell -- "Miami has been good to the Colts. They always win. Vegas has them winning by four points. I think the Colts will win it. It's definitely going to be a close game."

Maggie Ingold, Middlebury -- "I watch all the games. My son and I will be going to a Super Bowl party. He wears a Colts jersey all the time. He's a big fan, too. I hope they win.

Doug Shaffer, Goshen -- "It's real simple. The Saints are 26th in passing defense. Payton Manning and the pass (is his specialty). The Saints are going to be like that breakfast food -- toast. During the regular season my (Colts) seats are the fourth row up from where the opposing team enters the stadium. I want to go to the Super Bowl, but I have to be responsible. I have a daughter in college."

Derek Reafsnyder, Millersburg -- "No, I don't like the Colts. When they played the Patriots, the Patriots choked. I'm a Vikings fan. I would like to have seen the Vikings win Sunday."

Darin Reafsnyder, Millersburg -- "I was a Vikings fan. I would rather see the Vikings in the game with the Colts. The Colts should have 'manned up' and tried to go undefeated," rather than playing the second string and allowing the Jets to win a few weeks ago.

Barry Sexton, Goshen -- "I wanted to see Minnesota go up against Indianapolis. Manning is the master of passing. I wanted to see a Manning-Favre shootout. The Saints will give them a run. It's going to be a good game. But I hate the NFL overtime situation. That needs to be changed."

Jeff Yoder, Goshen -- "I would have liked to see a different game, too. I would have liked to see the Vikings. I'm not sure how it will come down with the Saints. It still should be a good game -- a high scoring game."
